The Jewish Voice Project offers creative writing journeys designed specifically for Jewish people who are tired of being defined by everyone else.
Created by Emmy-nominated Executive Producer, Stanford University writing instructor and veteran teacher Adam Gilad, this program guides participants into self-discovery and masterful expression through writing.
Our flagship program is a yearlong exploration of self, family, identity and imagination as sparked by universal, personal and provocative themes sugggested in each week's Torah portion.
This is NOT about theology or history, though we learn from both of these subjects as fill our "writing tank" with ideas. Instead, this is deeply human, non-denominational, completely judgment- free and supportive creative workshop that meets people exactly where they are.
It's a chance to speak truths that they may never has spoken before as we wake them up to the depth of their experience.

A Personal Word from Adam
We are all part of an ongoing tradition of expression and interpretation!
I learned a lesson when I took a writing course many years ago.
I was already a veteran University writing teacher and accomplished screenwriter but...
Man, did I learn a lesson!
Every single person in that course - all ages, all experiences - had TREASURES inside of them.
It was a revelation for me - just how much beauty people had inside them - they only needed the right series of prompts - and the safe space - to discover them.
It was then that I developed the Write Through the Torah Workshops.
As an oasis, a sacred space, a creative playground, a place to quiet the world and...
...for a blissful pause once a week, for people to listen to their inner voices.
I do all kinds of writing - for Hollywood, book writing, as a consultant for startups and growth companies so that they can tell their stories inspiringly.
But this?
This is my soul work.
This is where I am in deep service to the growth and expression of every single person who sets aside their time to dive into their inner truths.
Since October 7th, this workshop has taken on an even more poignant meaning -- a chance for Jewish people to express their truths - instead of having to listen to other people try to define us.
This is a time to speak up strongly and unapologetically for the richness that being Jewish in the world brings.
It is a place to reaffirm and deepen one's unique identity.
